Nowadays, stainless steel materials have been widely applied in our life and industry. For example, we use stainless steel materials in building construction, water and oil transportation. Made from an alloy of iron and carbon, stainless steel pipes can act as a structural component for scaffolding and framing systems. There are several different types of steel pipe available for use in various applications and the most widely used is the stainless steel pipe. For example, stainless steel welded pipe and seamless pipe are both widely used.

Stainless steel pipes can be processed into different types of pipes. For example, stainless steel hot rolling, hardening, quenching and bright annealing are all production processes of stainless steel pipes. Here we are talking about stainless steel pipe hot rolling.

Stainless steel pipe hot rolling refers to a process of reheating semi-finished steel slabs of steel nearly to their melting point, then roll them thinner and longer through 12 successive rolling mill stands driven by motors totaling 77,000 hp, and finally coiling up the lengthened steel sheet for transport to the next process.

After stainless steel hot rolling, pipes have better working performance. Metal rolling is often the first step in creating raw metal forms. The ingot or continuous casting is hot rolled into a bloom or a slab and these are the basic structures for the creation of a wide range of manufactured forms.

Hot rolled stainless steel pipes have many good properties. For example, the hardness can be enhanced and the corrosion resistant properties can be improved. Different from cold rolling, hot rolling can reduce the thickness of the stainless steel pipes. Also, friction is therefore a necessary part of the rolling operation and it can polish the surface of the stainless steel pipes.

In addition to stainless steel pipe hot rolling, bright annealing is another important process of stainless steel pie manufacturing. Bright annealing means heating the stainless steel pipes and in temperatures from 760 to 830 degrees centigrade. Then cool the pipes quickly. The stainless steel pipes can keep metal luster and the surface can be brighter.

Certainly, there are many other production processes of stainless steel pipes. If you are interested in further information about stainless steel pipe hot rolling and other manufacturing processes, Shangshang can provide what you need.
